Current Research
My current research is focused on producing tunable nanoparticles and probing the impact that their physicochemical characteristics have on macrophage uptake and polarization. Our goal is to provide an understanding of how the underlying properties of biomaterials can be modulated to improve immunotherapies.
Academic and professional background
I earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Tufts University in 2018. I worked in the labs of Dr. David Kaplan and Dr. Lauren Black, where I investigated silk-ECM biomaterials for cardiac tissue engineering. In the summer of 2017, I interned at the Center for Engineering and Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children where I focused on developing an epidermal tissue construct for pediatric burn patients.
